Gelatin is a solid substance that comes from the collagen found inside the skin and bones of some animals, mostly from pigs, cattles and other domesticated animals. The collagen becomes gelatin after undergoing the process of partial hydrolysis. Gelatin is a protein that is translucent, colorless, odor-free, breakable and almost without taste. One property of gelatin is its ability to melt easily when heated and in the same way, solidify when cooled. Commonly, it is being utilized as a gelling agent in many industries like food, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. It's also known by its E number which is E441.

Hoodia Gordonii is a water retaining plant, also known as a succulent, which grows without leafs. Being native to the south of Africa, it has been in use for an indeterminable amount of time as an appetite suppressant. It is very easily identifiable, because the flowers of this plant have a rotten meat odor. The ingredient of the plant which is responsible for the appetite suppressing effects has been named P57. It is a steroidal glycoside which seems to act directly to the central nervous system’s mechanisms and supposedly raises the content of adenosine triphosphate in brain by at least a half. The effects of P57 in trials were registered as capable to reduce food intake by some fifty per cent on a daily basis.

Magnesium Stearate is coommonly used as a filling agent in the manufacture of capsules and tablets, such as vitamins, the source of this ingredient is typically bovine. However, there is an increasing number of vegetarian options in which the product specifically indicates it contains magnesium stearate from vegetable sources.
