Glycyrrhetinic Acid is a pentacyclic triterpenoid derivative of the beta-amyrin. Its chemical formula is C30H46O4 and Mol. Mass is 470.68 g/mol. It is manufactured from herb liquorice. It is commonly used as a flavor to mask the bitter taste of drugs like aloe and quinine. Glycyrrhetinic acid inhibits the enzymes 15-hydroxyprostaglandin dehydrogenase and delta-13-prostaglandin that metabolize the prostaglandins PGE-2 and PGF-2a to their respective 15 keto-13,14-dihydro metabolites. This process increases the level of prostaglandins in the digestive system, which in turn inhibit gastric secretion but stimulate pancreatic secretion and mucous secretion. It also increase intestinal motility, thus it is effective in treatment of peptic ulcer. Glycyrrhetinic acid also has expectorant (antitussive) properties.
Raspberry Ketones come from a common fruit found in numerous countries. It is molecularly similar to capsaicin, found in chilli peppers, which has potent thermogenic properties. Raspberry Ketones greatly help decrease body fat. It helps in treating obesity by decreasing the absorption of fats and increasing norepinephine-induced fat breakdown or lipolysis. It also has the ability to decrease the fats in the liver and visceral adipose tissues. Raspberry Ketones also help control and maintain blood sugar and blood pressure levels. It also help balance the good cholesterol level. It contains significant levels of ellargic acid, a phenolic compound that fights abnormal or cancer cells. It also contains quercetin, flavonols, and anthocyanins that has been found to be effective antioxidants that protects the heart and the skin from age-related decline.
Synephrine HCL- Designed primarily to encourage fat loss. This is achieved by stimulating the beta-3 receptors. Doing so increases the metabolic rate leading to fat loss.
Synephrine is a stimulant similar to caffeine and ephedrine and it is believed to provide an energy boost, suppress appetite and increase metabolism. The combination of all leads to burning more calories. Studies have stated that synephrine stimulates fat metabolism without the usual negative cardiovascular side effects.
The effectiveness of synephrine is increased by combining it with HCL. This allows for increased absorption and more solubility in water.
However regardless of the increasing popularity of synephrine HCL, there are still some debates over its over all effects and it being used as an alternative to ephedrine, a substance made illegal by many countries due to the side effects including heart disease.
Yohimbine HCL is the active chemical component of the medicinal herb Pausinystalia yohimbe. It is a stimulant drug and is reportedly an aphrodisiac.
According to the National Institute of Health (NIH), the standardised form of this chemical is Yohimbine hydrochloride (HCL) and is available as a prescription drug in the United States. Research has shown that yohimbine hydrochloride is effective as a treatment for male impotence.
However while yohimbine HCL has been used as a prescription medicine to treat erectile dysfunction controlled studies suggests conflicting results.
Apart from male sexual dysfunction, yohimbine HCL has also been used to treat the side effects of antidepressants like female hyposexual disorder etc. It is also used to recall memories in the treatment of post-traumatic-stress-disorder.
While there are several uses for yohimbine HCL, there are several side effects too. These include high blood pressure, insomnia, panic attacks, hallucinations, headaches, renal failure, heart disease etc.
