Cordyceps is a genus of ascomycete fungi that includes about 400 species. All Cordyceps species are endoparasitoids, mainly insects and other arthropods. They are abundant in humid and tropical forests. It is used in preparation of drugs to suppress human immune system for organ transplant. Some experiments with mice showed that Cordyceps can protect the bone marrow and digestive systems from whole body irradiation. In some other studies Researchers have noted that Cordyceps have a hypoglycemic effect and may be beneficial for people with insulin resistance. They are also used in manufacture of supplements claimed to increase performance in athletes.

Dodder Seed Extract is extracted from the seeds of a plant Cuscuta chinensis. The plant is native to China and Japan. In Chinese medicine Dodder seeds are used as a kidney tonic and as a treatment for male impotence, nocturnal emission, premature ejaculation, and low sperm count. The active constituents which are believed to give Dodder seeds these effects are quercetin, cuscutin, astragalin, vitamin A, hyperosides and sterols. Some recent experiments also confirm its medicinal properties; in a clinical trial 50 patients with male impotence were treated of whom 38 patients experienced total recovery and 8 patients improved.

Epimedium, also popularly known as horny goat weed is a genus of herbaceous perennials belonging to the family Berberidaceae. The plant is found to possess aphrodisiac properties. Legend has it that a Chinese goat herder observed and reported increased sexual activity in his heard after it consumed the plant, hence the name. Its active ingredient is icariin. This ingredient has been reported to have a number of effects on the body. It inhibits the degradation of cyclic guanosine mono phosphate cGMP by PDE5 in the blood vessels supplying the corpus cavernosum of the penis. cGMP is the activated form of GMP produced by the release of nitric oxide in the vessels and relaxes the smooth muscle tissue resulting in the improvement in blood flow and erection. It also acts to increase mental faculties.

Naringenin is a flavanoid found naturally in grape fruit. Its chemical formula is C15H12O5 and Mol. Mass is 272.257 g/mol. Research shows that it has significant health benefits; it functions as an antioxidant, scavenges free radicals, promotes carbohydrate metabolism and improves immune system function. Studies also show that Naringenin reduces oxidative DNA damage in vitro and has inhibitory effect on cytochrome P450 isoform CYP1A2 which can change pharmacokinetics in a human host of several popular drugs in an adverse manner. It is also shown to be effective in treatment of hepatitis C and to lower the cholesterol concentrations by suppressing HMG-CoA reductase and ACAT in rats that are given a high-cholesterol diet.
