Calcium Phosphate is from the family of minerals containing calcium ions (Ca2+) together with orthophosphates (PO43-), metaphosphates or pyrophosphates (P2O74-) and occasionally hydrogen or hydroxide ions. It is increasingly insoluble at increasing temperatures unlike other chemicals so it precipitates at higher temperatures. Commercially Calcium phosphate is used in production of phosphoric acid and fertilizers. It is also used as nutritional supplement for bone and tooth health. Another practical use of Calcium phosphate is in dental products for demineralization and as diluents in some medicine. It is also used in technologies involving transfection of cells.

Di-Potassium Phosphate is more commonly known by various other names including phosphoric acid, dispotassium salt, potassium phosphate, dipotassium hydrogen orthophosphate etc. It is an extremely water soluble salt used for a variety of reasons in various industries. One of the most common uses dipotassium phosphate is put to is in the food industry. It is on FDA’s list of Generally recognised as safe substance. In the food industry, dipotassium phosphate is used as an additive in coffee creamer substitutes as well as an emulsifier in non-dairy creamers and body building drinks. The primary function of the dipotassium phosphate is to prevent protein coagulation as well as its precipitation. It is also used to control the pH in many food processing applications. In the pharmaceutical industry, dipotassium phosphate is used as a nutrient for cultures used to produce antibiotics. Other uses include being used in liquid detergents, compound fertilizer preparations etc.

Di-Sodium Phosphate is a Sodium salt with a phosphoric base. It is soluble in water and is used commercially to keep powdered products from forming cakes. It is also used as a stabilizer and buffering agent in various foods and as an emulsifying agent in manufacturing pasteurized processed cheese. It is added to powdered milk to help keep it from clumping. Prolonged inhalation and ingestion of Disodium Phosphate, however, does have its effects. Inhalation over a long period of time can bring about disorders of the respiratory tract, while ingesting the same can cause lethargy, vomiting, heart diseases and neurological disorders. Contact with the skin and eyes can cause irritation, inflammation and pain. It may also cause an increased aggravation of pre existing health problems.
